Today I worked in my virtual machine Ubuntu 10.10, started to set up a server. I also worked on understanding Linux commands and searched for some tools that could be used on my Ubuntu Virtual machine. I looked at samba and firewall builder, I will read up some more before going any further.

Today I imaged three machines and worked with martin on creating a virtual machine with Mac OS. Today i listened to Alex talk about hard drives and file management. Then began imaging the Tec machines. Got most done today.

Imaged Vost 12,10,11,8,3,7,2,4 and 6tec and 3tec.
I looked for drivers for Hp system. Using the ven/dev numbers.
Found information on trinity 3.3 to reset passwords

First fixed boot loader for ubuntu with EasyBCD in windows Vista. Tried to boot into Ubuntu and couldn’t. So I worked on fixing the out of range problem on Hippo machine. Worked on hippo breaking it and fixing it. Worked with martin on using USB to boot into mint11. will work tomorrow more.

Imaged vost1 and helped with imaging of vost2, vost7, Worked on a document for Creating a Virtual machine step by step guide.

I finished working with Client’s computer, finished my lab Assignmentand worked on imaging Vost1. I gave client written instuctions about what i did for her and gave advise about her internet. Will finish Image tomorrow.

For the last few days I’ve been building a computer for the motherboard; ms-6577 ver1. I installed Windows XP on it and needed the video and audio drivers. Had a hard time of it. Traci did a lecture about resumes and interviews. I worked on writing tickets and installing Linux mint 9 to USB. Got a ticket from Joe about a client’s computer and made an appointment for Monday.

For the last few days, Martin and I worked on creating a Dual-Boot Computer. We used Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. We gparte the hard drive, then loaded Windows 7 32 bit, Then loaded Ubuntu 10.04, Then Added a windows entry to the grub 2 and when into the windows disk and attempted to fix mbr by clicking on repair computer. I worked on Installing Windows XP Pro. Checked the (f-8) BIOS to see if CD-Rom Boots first
Install window XP Pro by putting disk in cd-rom, Hit any key to boot, Enter, F-8 Agree, Create partition by deleting old partition and creating a new one (quick), D, L (confirm delete), enter. Enter product key and didn’t set password. Didn’t do automatic…[Read more]

Worked with martin on video and power issues in the lab. Then worked on a network drop issue on Dell Vostro 230 #4x8bnm1 and downloaded BIOS on it and Dell Vostro 230 #4x8cnm1for testing. Will recheck tomorrow.

I listened to Alex’s lecture and made a few virtual machines. One that was three hundred dollars and the other about a thousand. I got side track alot. So many great chooses.

Replaced 40 Gig hard drive with 60 Gig drive. Added 2 sticks of 256 DDR Ram. Hard drive failed and went back to 40 Gig. I attempted to load Ubuntu 10.04. Had problems with video and OS failed to continue. Checked ram, cabling and replaced CD-rom. Still fail to finish loading OS. Think it’s the motherboard and scraped it

Martin, Mathew and I worked on creating a list of needs for computer lab. Martin, Mathew, Casey and I started putting hard drives and Ram to make the computers funtion. We started four computers. Two are in the checking hard drives stage and two are waiting for the new hard drive to be checked.

Today I listened to Alex’s lecture and worked on checking computer for fixing.

Today I finished the BIOS/CMOS lab and worked on some computer to see if they would boot, Had hard drives and ram. I did 12 today and 7 more tomorrow.

I work on Vost 4’s network problem. I looked at ubuntu 10.10 to see if i could look at SMART. I could’nt so downloaded speedfan and looked there. I worked on mongoose2, fixing a hard drive problem.

Went thru hardware Spec lab. Moved Vost systems back to Neil classroom.
